인생은 아름다워.

올 해도 열다섯 개의 아름다운 인생 이야기를 모아 사진전시회를 열게 되었습니다. 표현하고 재현하는 사진은 화면으로 이야기를 전하는 딜리버입니다. 순간성을 전제로 하는 사진으로 기나긴 인생을 이야기한다는 것이 쉽지도 않고 가볍지도 않았습니다. 난해하지 않은 난해함으로 이미지를 현학적으로 꾸미는 일은 정말로 하고 싶지 않았습니다. 문득 가족에게서 받은 문자메시지에서도, 길에서 흘러나온 20년 전 유행가요에서도, 어느 여행지에서 마주한 황홀한 풍경 앞에서도 우리의 ‘아름다운 인생’은 지어집니다. 인생은 흐르는 것이 아니라 쌓이는 것이라고 합니다. 지어지고 쌓여가는 인생 속에서 우리가 찾았던 아름다움은 무엇이었을까 곱씹어봅니다. 저희들의 이야기가 감상하는 분들께 어떻게 전해질지 마음이 뒤설렙니다. 저희 각자 사는 곳에서 만들고 가꿔온 ‘아름다운 인생’을 만나주시고 맘껏 추억해주시기를 부탁드립니다. 감사합니다.

Life is beautiful.

This year, I got to open a photography exhibition compiled with fifteen beautiful stories about life. Photography recaptures and expresses to deliver the stories through the screen. Delivering stories of continuous lives via photography that captures a discrete moment is neither an easy task nor a light one. It was my last wish to create a pedantic interpretation out of what is not. ‘Beautiful life’ is rather created from a text message from a family member, a throwback pop song from 20 years ago, and a scenery you encountered from a trip. People say life is something that is accumulated instead of that flows. I think about what beauty we found in those accumulating memories. I look forward to deliver our stories to the viewers. I hope you get to meet ‘beautiful life’ us individual created and remember them. Thank you.
